ATHENS, GREECE—A rare historical discovery finds that Greek philospher Pythagoras, who was among the first to theorize that the Earth was in fact a sphere, was banned from the then proto-YouTube owned by The Roman Catholic Church. The church-owned service at the time says it will remove anything it deems “scientifically unsubstantiated”. A spokesperson for The Church remarked they want to “stamp out misinformation” in the arena of scientific discourse.
The Church announced users who had disseminated “false” scientific information would receive an uninvited visit from a church representative to recant.
